The Chorleywood opening bowlers Hodson and Neal started well containing the Hemel openers with an accurate opening spell, Brooks continued the good work but the ninth over saw Walters in particular break the shackles with 17 coming from the over taking the score to 44. This really was the cue for Hemel, good running between the wickets got the scoreboard moving and Walters retired for an excellent 33 with the score in the mid sixties. Dale was soon out after LBW to Brooks for a patient 14, Breed and Bauldreay followed soon after and the innings could have gone either way at this stage. For Hemel enter Head who played an outstanding innings of 30 retired, dealing mainly to the legside but with good clean hitting really moved Hemel to a strong position. Rogers was run out but Hall and Acors saw Hemel through to 129 at the close of their innings.

Hemel Hempstead 95 for 7 beat Shenley Village 87-7 by 8 Runs
Hemel batted first and got off to a positive start until Walters was out caught for 10 off the bowling of Amin, Breed followed soon after bowled by Marshall. Dale the retired with 30 and the runs dried up with good bowling and fielding by the Shenley boys leaving Hemel with 95.
Shenley's reply commenced with Smith dropped off the second ball which was to cost Hemel dearly, however, Harley was soon by Hoskins. This brought Amin to the wicket to join Smith in a very important partnership which was to 51 runs in good time. It's fair to say Amin was also dropped before getting to double figures but both Smith and Amin retired with 30 a piece and Shenley need 35 of 7 overs. The Shenley boys never quite managed to keep up with the rate despite some frantic running which resulted in three run outs and a narrow 7 run win for Hemel.

Hemel Hempstead 108-4 (20 points) vs Redbourn 58-7 (4 points)
On a cold and blustery evening Redbourn won the toss and invited Hemel to Bat.
It looked like a good decision to bowl as the wickets of Walters in the third over and Breed in the 6th over with the total only 22. This brought Bauldreay to the wicket to join Dale and it was Bauldreay's positive play with 4 boundaries in an aggressive 23 that gave the Hemel innings some impetus whilst Dale steadily accumulated his runs. When Bauldreay fell in the 11th over the score was 52 and some worked still needed to be done. Dale now started to push on and built a useful partnership with Head. Dale retired for a well played 31 in the 16th over and Head keep the board moving nicely until he was dismissed for 18 in the penultimate over. Hemel closed on 108 and for Redbourn Knights was the pick of the bowlers with 4 overs for 13 runs, very tidy stuff.
In reply the Redbourn batters struggled to get the scoreboard moving throughout their innings. The accuracy of Hoskins 4ov 2 wkts for 7runs and Wilson was excellent to start with. They were well backed up by Bauldreay 4ov 2wkts for 11 runs, Woosley 4ov 1wkt for 11runs. Hemel's fielding was top notch throughout, led by wicketkeeper Hill who took a couple of good catches and stumping. Redbourns batting was well led by Dinwoodie who scored 10 playing good shots all round the wicket and Knights who was not 14, steadily accumulating his runs.
